This three-phase energy logger is ideal for the following.
- Determining the energy usage/load profile of a building’s energy usage over a period of time.

Current sensing coils
This meter comes with MRC24 600A Rogowski current sensing coils. If you would like to measure larger currents, or larger bus bars, order the following rogowski coils additionally.
ST08 current clamps
Alternatively you can order the ST08 current clamps. This is idea for measuring small current flows below 1 A, but also up to 10A or 20A.

Our meters have been calibrated by the German calibration laboratory TÜV and have met all requirements.
We can also supply a calibration certificate with the meter you buy, at an additional cost. Let us know if this is required when you order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, it comes with 5 voltage sensing leads, 4 current sensing coils, and a USB power supply and cable. The diameter of the current sensing coils is 24mm, and it can measure up to 600A. If you want to measure higher currents, then you have to buy larger Rogowski coils, also available here.
The device comes with two 18659 Lithium batteries.
The build in LiPo batteries last 10 hours. We recommend plugin it into mains power if planning to log for longer than 10 hours.
Each meter is factory-tested and calibrated. The allowable variance is less than 0.02%. Additionally, each meter can be sent for calibration and receive a calibration certificate at an additional cost. Click here to see an example meter calibration report.
The Mi550 logs to its data to 31GB internal memory. Then you can then download the data to an USB stick.
No, the meter must be powered by a 5V external power supply, or the internal batteries. One can supply power to the external power supply with this adaptor. Contact us to order this adaptor.

The Mi550 has waveform recording functionality. The waveform sampling rate is configurable: 1, 2, 4, or 8 kHz, with corresponding maximum sampling durations of 40s, 20s, 10s or 5s, respectively.
Note this is distinct from the data logging interval (minimum 5 seconds) — the kHz sampling rate applies specifically to waveform recording.
The minimum logging interval of the Mi550 is five seconds. The minimum logging interval of the ME440 and ME435 is one seconds.
The user interface of the meter can be set to any of the following languages:
- English
- German
- Portuguese
- Spanish
- French
- Chinese
If one uses the NRC300, it can be configured to have an output of 85mV/kA or 50mV/kA. However, we generally recommend an output of 50mV/kA. The reason is that for a 300mm Rogowski coil like the NRC300, the measured current is usually quite large.
The maximum input voltage range of the Meatrol meters is: 0 – 420mVAC.
When the output of the Rogowski coil is 50mV/kA, the maximum measurable current is 8500A (8,5 kA x 50 mV = 425 mVAC).
But if the coil output is 85mV/kA, the maximum measurable current is 5000A (5 kA x 85mV = 425 mVAC).
The reason why the NRC300 coils come in 50 mV/kA variation is to accommodate high current readings.
The maximum input voltage to the Mi550 meter is 690V, L-N.
Higher voltages can be measured when using a voltage transformer, and a voltage ratio can be set. Please ensure that the input voltage does not exceed the rated maximum input voltage of the Mi550.
The DPF shown on this screen stands for Displacement Power Factor.
DPF represents the cosine of the angle between voltage and current (cos φ) for each phase. It specifically measures the phase shift caused by inductive or capacitive loads in the circuit.
In this example:
- L1: 0.917 (fairly good)
- L2: 0.860 (moderate)
- L3: 0.891 (good)
- Total: 0.889 (good overall)
Key differences:
- PF (Power Factor) = 0.660 overall – includes both displacement AND distortion (harmonics)
- DPF (Displacement Power Factor) = 0.889 overall – only measures the fundamental frequency displacement
The fact that your DPF (0.889) is significantly higher than your PF (0.660) indicates you have substantial harmonic distortion in your system, likely from non-linear loads like variable frequency drives, switching power supplies, or electronic equipment. The poor power factor isn’t just from inductive phase shift, but also from harmonics distorting the current waveform.
The Mi550 is only designed for measuring power frequency signals within 45Hz to 65Hz.
